Over the last couple of years I have become very passionate about catching and releasing giant panfish. I've caught quite a few over 10" and was on the hunt for something over 11"On an August morning this summer I decided to try out a lake that I know produces big bluegills, just not that many of them. We fished for a few hours and pulled in a few fish around the 10" mark. I was casting around a Northland Firefly jig tipped with a small leech when I felt a good strike, I set the hook and the ultra-light rod doubled over and I about fell out of the boat when I saw her coming up!She was quickly measured at 11.5" and released to fight another day.
