Arthur Huttemeyer

Budd Lake  New Jersey

Species: Striped Bass

Date Caught: 09/01/2011

Kept / Released: Kept

Region of Catch: Region 1

Length: 28 1/2

Weight: 8

Lure / Bait used: Bait | Live Herring

Fishing on Lake Hopatcong N.J. with my buddy Chris, we fished all night until daybreak catching only crappies and bullhead catfish. But when the sun came out the stripers began to feed. I managed this 9 lb. 29 incher caught on live herring on my Pflueger arbor rod and reel combo. This is my personal best striper in fresh water. This fish fought so hard stripping live at will. It was sad to see he foul hooked one of his gills and lost a lot of blood . I was unable to revive him for the release which I always practice.
