Petoe Vang

Cottage Grove Minnesota

Me and my fishing partner were fishing for walleyes an whitebass on he Mississippi River of Pool 3. The day was very slow. I only caught one white bass so far and my partner was up his 5th whitebass when my next pitch to the side of some wood revealed a huge explosion. This guy had some fight in him. We were thinking catfish or carp but our jaws dropped when we saw this fish. I was pretty excited when it finally hit the net I was still shaking. I thought this fish was gonna be bigger then what it came out to be, but it hit 40.5 inches. The fish was release safely back. I can't wait to catch her again next year and hopefully beat my personal best again.
