It was getting rather late but the grass carp could still be seen eating floating plant matter floating down river. I had been taking grass and bundling it onto my hook so that the carp would bite it as it were floating downstream. It didnt take long for this monster to grab the grass and start ripping out drag, it took a good 20 minutes before the carp came in, by now it was dark outside. While trying to grab it and pull it onto the shore it was mildly injured by the gills causing it to bleed. We measured it in at a whooping 47 inches, and then released it and it swam away without a problem.
