Shallow Weed Walleye

Shallow Weed Walleye
7lb Walleye

Scott Beedham

Ottawa Ontario

Met up with a Fraternity brother who got me back into fishing this year after a 10 year break for an early morning excursion. After 2hrs of raking the shoreline across weedbeds in 8ft of water and our usual routine of him catching lots of good size fish and me getting skunked, I paused my Berkley Havoc Pit Boss on the surface next to the boat to evaluate the area and lure choice. Then out of no where, the rod almost got ripped out of my hands, I looked over expecting to see it caught in the trolling motor and much to my surprise there she was! My first Walleye...ever!
