I was fishing on Mille Lacs and was throwing a Bulldawg and had a follow as I was trying to shake the weeds off of the black and white dawg. By the time I got the weeds off, I had drifted a bit and turned to the otherside of the boat and threw back to where I hoped it was and in 2 seconds I was hooked up. It was a great fight and Dave asked where are you bringing it? I was not the one to decide that, the fish gave my brand new Cabela's extra-heavy 8 footer a big bend and it finally came all the way around the boat to the other side and we got it in. It was extra fun to have my childhood friend, Dave, net it for me. We had not fished together for over 20 years. A wonderful 80 degree last day of September day capped off with my largest pike to date. We are now booked for an annual big fish trip every fall.
