two awesome pond cats!

two awesome pond cats!

Well it was about two in the afternoon and I thought to myself why sit at home and do nothing at all when I could be out doin one of my most favorite things to ever and thats fish! Well you see, my neibor has a pond that he only lets his neibors and his family fish. So I grabbed my very small tand old tackle box I got when i was 10 and my two favorite fishing poles. One of those fishing poles I had just restrobg the day before with 20lb test triline and the oher i just have set up for bass fishing. After i grabbed my stuff and put them in my car i headed down to my neighbors and asked if i can fish his awesome pond,he then said yes. Well I got walked down to his pond and walked to the end of his deck he made that almost stretches to the middle of his pond.I grabed my sponge hook and a stick and mashed it down in my stink bait container and cast it into the pond. After about 15min my pool started to bend hard and rapidly bounced so I ran over to it and set the hook and realed in the first monster cat. Then I rebaited my sponge hook with stink bait and casted again. After about 20 min my pole once again jerked and bounced,so i ran over again and set the hook and caught the second monster. Then once again I repeated my bait and cast process. After about 20-25 mi my pool jerked harder then I have ever seen it jerk before,I had to run pretty fast to get it because it almost went into the pond. When i grabbed my pool and set the hook I could tell I had a big fish! My line was goin all over the place and my pole was bending bad,I thought it was going to snap! I finnaly got the fish to the deck nd i could see it threw the water, it was the biggest channel cat i had ever seen! The head on it was probably 6-7 inches wide and the body was prob 40 inches long, if not more! I moved fast to get on my knees to grab it by the mouth and bring this badboy out of the water. My thumb was probably 1 inch from the giants mouth when in 1 swift move the fish jerked his head and snapped my line.My heart sank as I watched as the biggest fish I "almost" caught swam down into the depths of the water with my line and sponge hook dangling from his mouth. After that I got up and grabbed my other trophies to take home. That night I shared not only my to fish, but also my amazing story of "almost" catching a giant cat, with my family.
