My brother and I were fishing in the two-day Minnesota Tournament Trail Mille Lacs Walleye Tournament, fishing for smaller walleyes closer to the slot limit feeding on crayfish and perch on windswept shallow rocks. In addition to walleyes, we caught a 36 inch pike, and several smallmouth bass including this 20.5 incher that we estimated to weigh 5.5 pounds. We didn't cash a check after a very tough two days of walleye fishing, but who can complain about a smallie like this.
