Late season walleye fishing on the Bay of Quinte can be very rewarding. Slow trolling with deep divers on a late December day, weather was sunny, 8C, light wind - rare this time of year. Most years the BofQ is frozen by now. My son Kevin's rod goes off and the fish is on. As soon as we cut the motor, my planer board goes off and we have a double-header. Quickly netted both fish and weighed them, photographed them and let them go unharmed. My son's was the biggest I have personally seen - 15.0lbs (32in). Weighed it on 2 digital scales to make sure. Mine was 11lbs 8oz (30in) - a personal best! Not a bad average! Great way to spend a day with you son! Not many places in the world you can do this.
