Yakima Bait Company: Vibric Rooster Tail
October 23, 2013
October, November, and December are grand times to be afloat and pursuing white bass on wind-blown points and shorelines at the reservoirs that bespeckle the nation's great white bass triangle, which stretches from Milford Lake, Kansas, to Grand Lake, Oklahoma, and to the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri
Clyde Holscher, who is a multispecies angler and guide from Topeka, Kansas, says that one of his favorite baits to inveigle white bass on the wind-blown points and shorelines is a Yakima Bait Company's Vibric Rooster Tail.
Last year on Oct. 11, we posted a blog about a new color combination of the Vibric Rooster Tail called the Clyde, which was named after Holscher. It is endowed with a white body, white hackle tail, and chartreuse spinner blade. (Here's a link to that blog: //www.in-fisherman.com/2012/10/11/white-bass-anglers-gear-guide-yakima-bcompanys-14-ounce-vibric-rooster-tail/)
This fall Yakima has created two new colors for Holscher, his clients and fellow white bass anglers to employ.
One is the Claudette, which has a white body with a white hackle tail and a fluorescent-pink spinner blade.
The second one is called the Claudia. It features a fluorescent-pink hackle tail, white body, and chartreuse spinner blade.
They are available in 1/16-, 1/8-, 1/4- and 3/8-ounce sizes. Holscher says they are an extremely durable baits. In fact, they have been known to have the wherewithal to withstand donnybrooks with more than a 100 feisty white bass and an occasional wiper.
The retail price is $3.79.
