When Zoom Bait Company recently announced the addition of the Magnum Swamp Crawler to its plastic-worm repertoire, it caught the eye of a Midwest finesse angler, who suggested that we should publish a short blog about it.
According to the folks at Zoom, it is 6 1/2 inches long, making it an inch longer than its sibling, which is call the Swamp Crawler. Largemouth bass anglers can wield it on slip-sinker rigs, Carolina rigs, shaky-head jigs, drop-shot rigs, and wacky jigs, as well as rigging it weightless on an offset worm hook or wacky-style hook. And finesse anglers can utilize it on split-shot rigs and affix it to a 1/32-, 1/16- or 3/32-ounce Gopher Tackle Gopher Jig Head.
It is available in eight colors: Green Pumpkin, Green Pumpkin Purple Green, Junebug, Pumpkin, Red Bug, Watermelon Candy, Watermelon Read, and Watermelon Seed.
The suggested retail price for a package of 15 is $4.79.
End notes
We are eager to receive comments from anglers about the baits that we feature in our gear-guide blogs. So, please tell us how, when and where you used the Magnum Swamp Crawler, and how many bass it allured per hour.
